Inside the 100 year old shantytown almost unchanged since ww1, just one small change since WW2:

I built a wall.

With some spare bricks, bricks from my yard and some time (in my free time), I installed all the wall pieces on my house. Since it was dark and cloudy this is the result:

A few quick tips

First of all, this is not a brick wall, it's rather a rectangular wall with a roof. It looks a bit like a shantytown, but it doesn't really look too different from a shantytown on a regular night. If you are unsure of what you are looking for, you might want to go look at it when it has just opened (in the morning, it usually does) and see what you like. Then take off the plywood and paint the inside and roof with a medium shade. I have it toasted in the microwave for three minutes and still wasn't dry. Once dry and painted, the inside has a clean finish of white vinyl.

I have only two things missing in this project:

A fireplace. A firepit, if you will.

And that means, for now, the fireplace, and my little friend will have to stay out in the dark.

Update 2:

A few friends and I did a few lighthearted projects of our own to add a little extra fun to our little project. As they say, only you know how to get started…

First, we built some sort of big wooden structure. The idea behind it was pretty simple, we needed something to fill the empty time space of an entire house. A big enough thing to hold everything we wanted to hang all our items. This is where we put the kitchen and bedroom:

Next, we built this small wooden structure that will form our little room to the back of the house:

And finally, we added some small wooden structures to the inside of the house to give it a little more character:

Atomic energy agency condemns north korea nuclear test

Nuclear reactor explosion has struck near Pukchang city in North Korea, prompting reports of radiation poisoning in the area, according to the North's state news agency.

The accident occurred in North Korea's southern city of Jilin at the Pu-ki-do nuclear power plant near the northeastern border with China, a spokesman for the Korea Atomic Energy Commission told the KCNA.

The KCNA, which usually relies on interviews with senior officials at the agency, declined to confirm the report.

The report of the radiation accident came after a report by North Korea's official Korean Central News Agency claimed that the nuclear power plant in northeastern North Korea exploded.

It said that a nuclear reactor at the nuclear power plant in the North Korean capital, Pyongyang, was damaged in the explosion of a nuclear weapon and a hydrogen bomb inside a test chamber at the facility.

Kim Jong-Un has been accused of using the North Korean nuclear technology to test missiles and deliver nuclear weapons at a regular interval since the end of his predecessor Kim Jong-Il's regime in 2011.

The nuclear accident prompted the UN Security Council to impose tough sanctions, including the suspension of US sales of iron ore, which Pyongyang claims it is developing in an effort to build its own nuclear deterrent.

The latest nuclear test in the country marked the end of one of the more tumultuous and unusual periods for the nuclear arms race between the US and North Korea.

Earlier this month the North, under pressure over its weapons test, agreed to abandon a plan to build an enriched uranium enrichment reactor.

Nuclear test 'unprecedented'

The latest nuclear test, the highest level of North Korea's nuclear technology yet tested, comes during a time of heightened tension with Washington, which last week announced that it was considering imposing new sanctions on the North's nuclear program, the highest level of those sanctions yet to be imposed.

The UN Security Council also voted last Thursday to impose new sanctions on North Korea over its latest ballistic missile launches.

The United Nations recently imposed a raft of new sanctions on North Korea over its human rights record, with an aim of pressuring Pyongyang into removing the country's nuclear weapons development program.

Pyongyang's regime has also warned that it will carry out more nuclear tests after taking the extraordinary step of launching a missile that flew almost 300km into the sea off its eastern coast.
